Cyberbullying training: prevention and response in practice

Cyberbullying takes many forms: abusive or demeaning messages, online harassment, threats, slander and targeted denigration. This includes publishing and sending sensitive or distorted information that is intended to damage the reputation of a specific person, in closed groups and on social networks. How do you know cyberbullying is happening if the victim doesn't tell you? And how to proceed step by step during an incident? At the GBH Academy training you will get answers and practice the procedure.

What will the training bring you?

The training is hands-on and guides you through the entire process, from identifying the problem to solving it. We adapt the content to the type of organization and participants, whether they are students, teachers or company management. Participants will learn about forms of cyberbullying and learn to recognize warning signs. In addition to ordinary harassment and slander, the program also deals with more serious forms such as cyberstalking, sexting, sextortion or cybergrooming.

We devote a large part of the training to solving the incident: when and how to inform the parents, the social and legal protection of children (OSPOD), the Police of the Czech Republic or other institutions and when to file a criminal complaint. You will learn to work with evidence, i.e. properly save screenshots, links, time data and other digital traces so that they can be used in further proceedings. We'll also discuss AI-generated deepfake content: how to spot it and how to respond to it.

Part of the training is practical training. Participants will try out model interviews with both the victim and the aggressor, and in schools with the parents of both parties. They will learn to calm the situation, and not to make it worse by inappropriate communication or a hasty step. We will also discuss follow-up prevention in class groups, so that the topic can be worked on in the long term and the training does not remain a one-time event.

In addition to the knowledge, you get a tool that you can use right away. Each organization will receive a crisis plan template customized for their operation. The plan sets out the procedure for the first hours of the incident, the protection of the victim and the rules for working with evidence. It is prepared in such a way that it will stand up inside the organization, during the control of the founder and in possible legal proceedings. Participants will receive a certificate of completion of the training.

Who will lead the training and how long will it last?

The training is conducted by cyberbullying experts with practical experience from real incidents. Their professional competence is evidenced by the certification of the National Office for Cyber ​​and Information Security (NÚKIB). The basic range is 5×45 minutes. We will adjust the program according to your organization and participants.
